Hi guys, I know I keep talking about this workshop but it’s kind of a big deal for me. I’ll be going through some of the basics of how I decide what to exaggerate and how to create a memory for your clients that will have them remember you. Some fun drawings from #aue people had really thick Saxonian accents. They were some of the nicest people I’ve met so far. More faces from Germany! I drew at 2 festivals and a wedding last weekend, it was tough and I didn’t take many pictures. But it was fun….mostly 😂 Another drawing I successfully pulled off from a blurry photo. I really didn’t like this when I started drawing it and if anyone has been following me for a while you know I don’t like drawing from photos. The guy had 100’s of blurry screenshot photos of this lady he wanted me draw, and he looked pretty old too so I was starting to get some stalker vibes from him after I agreed to draw her and he kept showing pictures of her… Out here having fun in Freiberg. If you’re here today is the last day to get drawn, come on out. Fun stuff. These are some horizontal drawings from different festivals I never got around to posting. Something about this format feels less risky. I have more room to play with the bodies and create more of a dynamic yet structured drawing. I never posted the pictures from Leipzig!? Here are a few goodies from there. I did some fun drawings with @emmanbl and @lera_caricature at @berlin_karikaturen this weekend. The festival was crazy busy and I experienced burnout for the first time this year. But it wasn’t from drawing, but more so from the loud concert and techno music over the last few weeks. Drawing people at the #karlmayfestspiele here in #radebeul I almost only drew black and whites here but it was a lot of fun. Having a lot of fun out here at the #heidenau #stadtfest. On the last day my wife came out with our daughters and she brought me a mini chocolate birthday cake. I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate my birthday. Here are a few fun caricatures from #prague last weekend. A few from the #frühlingsfest in Dresden last weekend. I was drawing faster than I normally do and didn’t manage to take pictures of some of the funnier ones with the guests. But these were really fun. This was a fun sketch I did live with @emmanbl looking at some of the legendary faces on @earthsworld If anyone is interested you can find the live in my video feed. A few more from Leipzig. The thing I noticed with the shading is that less people wanted color, which is both good and bad. I tend to loose money with coloring but it is more fun. More drawings from Leipzig. So it seems that the overwhelming majority of people here prefer shading to straight line work. I’m definitely gonna have to lean more into this approach for sure. Ostermarkt in Leipzig. I spent the last few days working with @evinaze and @lera_caricature and it was a lot of fun. Paul is trying out a new price point for sharing black and white drawings which is interesting. I’ve always thought my black and white drawings look better without shading but now I’m not so sure. I might have to try this myself 🤔 Playing around with the new brush engine in procreate. It’s starting to feel more and more like photoshop, still can’t believe it’s so cheap. Here are a few drawings from the past few weeks. The caricature season is ending and I’m happy with how it turned out after all of the uncertainty with lockdowns. I’ve learned this year that it doesn’t help to worry about things that we can’t control and sometimes you just have to have faith that things are gonna work out in the end.
